Лабораторный тест для определения D-димера по частоте измерений является одним из самых востребованных методов в практическом исследовании системы свертывания крови. Он занимает четвертое место по количеству назначений после протромбинового времени, активированного частичного тромбопластинового времени и фибриногена. С момента открытия D-димера (1970-е годы) и начала его применения в клинической практике (1990-е годы) анализ крови на D-димер прочно вошел в арсенал часто используемых врачами многих специальностей тестов для диагностики заболеваний, связанных с патологическим тромбообразованием. D-димер является конечным продуктом такого происходящего в организме человека процесса, как фибринолиз.
